Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. (President : Kengo Sakurada ; hereinafter,”Sompo Japan”) was selected as one of the Ethisphere 2013 World’s Most Ethical Companies as announced on March 6, 2013.
1. About Ethisphere World’s Most Ethical Companies
The Ethisphere Institute, an international think-tank based in the United States dedicated to business ethics and corporate social responsibility, each year performs research as part of its effort to share best practices in business ethics, anti corruption and sustainability. Each year Ethisphere selects companies nominated from more than 100 countries and 36 industries and this year marks the seventh such selection.
The selection of companies are based on an evaluation of their guidelines on business ethics, history of litigation or regulatory violations, investments in innovation and sustainable business practices, activities as a corporate citizen as well as analysis from, industry peers, suppliers and customers.
