Demand sees increases in energy consumption over the next five years
Within Asia, Malaysia is starting to take the lead in Smart Grid investments and developments, states Nadine Zrinzo, the Programme Manager of Transmission & Distribution / Smart Grids Asia 2012.
Taking place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 18-19 September, this 7th edition of the conference and exhibition will gather leading Asian utilities, regulators and ministries as well as service providers to discuss the latest transmission, distribution and smart grid developments in the region.
“The Smart Grid market in Asia is booming” says Nadine Zrinzo, “In order to meet demand of increasing energy consumption, utilities in for example Malaysia and Thailand have recently announced ambitious Smart Grid projects.”
She continues: “This is really the time for utilities, regulators, governments and solution providers in Asia to meet up and learn from each other. There are major investments being made and delegates could benefit from each pothers experiences. They all have the same end goal; which is to respond to increased customer energy usage as well as implementing renewable energies into the grid.”
