Ingersoll Rand China Energy Services Company passed the third filing in NDRC

Ingersoll-Rand plc (NYSE:IR), a world leader in creating and sustaining safe, comfortable and efficient environments, announced its Energy Services Company (ESCO) in China officially passed the 3rd filing of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).  From now on, Ingersoll Rand’s eligible energy management contracting (EMC) projects in China can apply for national financial award funds and enjoy the support of national tax-relief policies. Moreover, Ingersoll Rand China will use ESCO as a nationwide service platform, which is in full charge of the company’s EMC programs aimed at creating value and benefits for its customers.

In order to respond to the Chinese government’s call of pushing EMC, Ingersoll Rand leveraged its marketing and technical strengths in two business sectors, Industry Technologies and Climate Solutions, to establish the Ingersoll-Rand Trane Energy Services (Shanghai) Company Ltd. The ESCO aims to further integrate the company’s internal energy services resources, rebuild a unified image for the market and provide customers with professional, comprehensive, convenient and reliable services, which will include central air-conditioning systems, air compressor systems, hot water systems and other integrated energy-saving solutions.

“This filing by NDRC marks our breakthrough in EMC business in China,” said Jeff Song, Corporate vice president of Ingersoll Rand and president of Ingersoll Rand China, “With years of efforts, we have built up a professional workforce, accumulated rich experience and technologies, and established a good reputation in the industry as well as in the market.  The newly-founded ESCO will integrate all competitive resources within our company. Through constructing a new system, ESCO will further propel our EMC business and enhance our professional influence in China market.”

In effect, both Ingersoll Rand Air Compressor and Trane Air Conditioning have rich experience and an extensive business base in the energy services industry.  As early as 2005, Trane got its first energy-sharing EMC project, which was to transform the winter-cooling-water heat recovery system of Shanghai Hua Hong NEC. By the end of 2010, the air compressor and Trane team had jointly finished more than 20 cross-market and cross-system energy service projects, many of which were included in the Shanghai municipal government’s energy-saving promotional material. Their service saved their clients more than ten thousand tons of standard coal every year.   Moreover, Trane won the honorable title of “Shanghai’s Outstanding Group in Energy-saving and Emission-reduction of the Eleventh Five-year Plan”.  Shanghai Ingersoll-Rand Air Compressor Co. Ltd., was also selected as a member of Shanghai Energy-saving Association’s EMC Committee in 2007, and was filed as one of Shanghai’s Energy Service Companies in 2010.
