Diversey is thrilled and delighted to announce that Diversey Vietnam and Diversey Thailand have won Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards recently.
Diversey Vietnam was recognized for Best Country Award (Platinum Level) for Overall CSR Excellence at the 12th and 13th Annual Global CSR Virtual Summit and Awards 2021 held on 16 Nov 2021. The event was supposed to be an in-person event held in Hanoi, Vietnam but was changed to a virtual setting due to travel restrictions into Vietnam because of the pandemic. Diversey Vietnam won with our Creating Shared Value (CSV) programs such as Soap For Hope (reprocessing used hotel guests soaps into new soap bars), Linens For Life (repurposing end-of-life but still in good condition hotel linens into newborn linen kits, face masks, tote bags and other items) and CoffeeBriques (converting used coffee grounds into coffee charcoal briquettes). These CSV programs have 3 objectives – (1) enhancing livelihoods for some people, (2) providing items (such as soap, newborn linens, linen face masks, coffee charcoal briquettes) that improve the quality of life for needy communities, and (3) protecting the environment by diverting tons of solid waste from landfills.
Part of the citation reads: “Diversey Vietnam is not a large corporation but your community engagement impact is huge. Your programs are implemented from Sapa and Hanoi in the North to Hoi An, Danang and Nha Trang in Central, all the way to Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Tram and Phu Quoc in the South. Your programs are innovative. For example, your Linens For Life for Newborns that provided sets of baby pajamas, swaddling cloths and linen diapers for thousands of newborn babies in the rural villages in North Vietnam has not only provided clean linens for newborns and their mothers, it has also generated income for several disabled people who were unable to find work prior to being enrolled in this program.”
On 10 Nov 2021, the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AmCham) recognized Diversey Thailand with the AmCham CSR Excellence Awards (Silver). This is the third consecutive year that Diversey Thailand had been recognized with the AmCham CSR Excellence Award, which is awarded to member companies for their long-term efforts to support Thailand’s sustainable development. Qualifying companies must have CSR programs with measurable results that create both economic and social gains for a year and more, high levels of employee involvement, and strong strategic partnerships with Thai organizations.
Diversey Thailand was recognized for our Soap For Hope, Linens For Life and Linens For Life Face Masks programs, which helped several disadvantaged communities in Bangkok area, including a shelter for Sri Lankan refugees.
Mr. Vikas Mittal, Country Business Director for Diversey Thailand, Vietnam and Indochina said: “We are very proud of these awards. Although we can say for sure that our Teams do not run these community engagement programs to win awards, nevertheless, these recognitions will definitely spur us to do much more, for the communities in which we live and work, to make their lives better and healthier. These awards will not be possible without the partnership of our hotel customers as well as partner NGOs, and we want to thank them and share these accolades with them as well.”
