Singapore widens haze crackdown to Kalimantan, targeting 10 Indonesian firms
Singapore has issued three new notices to Indonesian companies on Monday; three of them supply Asia Pulp & Paper, which the Singapore Environment Council has warned could lose its green label.

This year’s haze is set to cost Singapore more than 2015’s S$1.83 billion. Who pays for the losses?
Economists suggest the 2026 haze will cost Singapore more than the 2015 episode, while other estimates state that Malaysia is losing RM20 million (US$4.9 million) to RM50 million (US$12.3 million) a day. Seven companies have been served notices under Singapore's Transboundary Haze Pollution Act.
The city's Beverage Container Return Scheme goes live on 1 April. BCRS is targeting a 60 per cent return rate this year, rising to 80 per cent by 2029.
The carbon footprint of meals is to be displayed on select menus at the National University of Singapore. But convenience-conscious students are sceptical that the initiative will inspire environmentally-friendly dining.
