Beneath Indonesia’s big EV dreams loom local costs
Two upcoming projects aim to push the country’s EV industry forward – but without changes to the law, experts fear they could perpetuate local harms.
Emergency measures include 30 per cent fee cut for EVs, fleet targets for transport firms and remote work for civil servants.
Achieving a 17 per cent carbon intensity cut by 2030 will be challenging given rising power demand, industrial growth and economic uncertainty.
The pilot comes as industry calls for non-financial measures to accelerate nationwide EV adoption.
