Pan Pacific Hotels hires Tan Jit Yee from Singapore’s National Environment Agency

Her work at NEA included the introduction of a charge on disposable plastic bags in Singapore’s supermarkets.

Tan Jit Yee, formerly an executive with Singapore’s National Environment Agency, has joined hospitality company Pan Pacific Hotels Group as sustainability partnerships manager.

Pan Pacific Hotels, which is part of Singapore-listed UOL Group, owns or manages close to 50 hotels, resorts and serviced suites in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, including the iconic Parkroyal on Pickering Hotel in downtown Singapore.

Tan joins a sustainability team that is aiming to make sustainable accommodation accessible for socially-conscious travellers. Her role will involve working with Pan Pacific’s business partners on sustainability goals.

She draws to a close more than three and a half years with NEA, where latterly she was manager of programmes and partnerships.

Her work at the government agency included programmes to reduce waste, including a project to curb disposables that led to a charge on plastic bags in supermarkets.

She also worked on programmes including the inaugural DBS Foundation X NEA Hungry for Change Challenge, the Youth for Environmental Sustainability (YES) Programme and Clean & Green Singapore. 

She studied at the National University of Singapore, where she graduated with a .
