Private sector investments can play an instrumental role in closing the gap between men and women in the agribusiness sector. By providing credit, technology and networks to women, companies can open up new business opportunities and create stronger value chains.
The seminar, hosted by WOMAG and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and sponsored by Olam International, will bring together the co-authors of the IFC’s ‘Investing in Women along Agribusiness Value Chains’ research. The seminar will explore the barriers to gender equality in the agribusiness sector, and examine how targeted gender-smart investments at each stage of the value chain can help companies to close the gender-gap and build resilient value chains.
