March 27, 2014
The objective of this webinar (45-minute presentation / 15-minute Q&A) is to support organizations as they look to challenge their supply chains to be more sustainable. It will help organizations to understand key risks in global supply chains and will outline approaches to screening and classifying suppliers.
Of critical interest in this webinar is an outline of migrant labour issues arising from global labour movements and the critical issues these can cause in supply chains. In the past 12 months, there have been a number of high profile issues that have focused the minds of leading brands as they understand the reputational impacts arising from migrant labour use. We look at how migrant labour can lead to forced or bonded labour and also consider how the UK is looking at new acts of Parliament to help tackle the issues arising from exploitation of migrant labour. Issues arising from migrant labour use are becoming a critical issue in responsible sourcing practice.
This is the second event in the 2014 SGS webinar series aimed at helping organizations to succeed in developing winning sustainability strategies and to support them in every step during the implementation. Key to an integrated and effective organizational strategy is a robust and effective responsible sourcing programme – this is central to business in 2014 and beyond.
This webinar will be most of interest to procurement professionals, sustainability professionals, organizational risk professionals, senior leadership teams in organizations that are investing heavily in brand building.
