The International Symposium on Sustainable Development of Eco-Smart City 2014

This symposium will be a high-level and significant academic exchange event held in China regarding the sustainable development of eco-smart city.

The representatives of various universities, enterprises, institutions and government agencies engaging in the research and application of smart city, sustainable development and environmental information are cordially invited to this symposium.

The introduction to this symposium and letter of confirmation are enclosed herewith for your convenience. The detailed agenda and discussion topics of the symposium will be finalized soon. The working languages of the conference are Chinese and English. The opening ceremony and important keynote speeches of the conference will be translated simultaneously.

Introduction to Organizers

1.) School of Economics and Management, Tongji University

Tongji University began programs in Economics and Management in 1956, and was one of the earliest universities in China to launch such majors. After over fifty years of development, SEM has gradually established a mission of Innovation, Cultivation, and Service with a goal of Internationalization and a strong research orientation. SEM has had many achievements in its international growth and disciplinary development. At present, SEM is an official member of AACSB, EFMD, AMBA and PRME. It has been awarded both AMBA Accreditation and EQUIS Accreditation.

2.) China Intelligent Urbanization Co-creation Center for High Density Region

China Intelligent Urbanization Co-creation Center is devoted to tackling the key problems in intelligent rural-urban development of high density regions (typically the Yangtze River Delta Region), fostering the future talents in intelligent urbanization, and building an international first-class research think tank for sustainable urbanization.

3.) Center for Sustainable Development and Global Competitiveness (CSDGC) at Stanford University

The Center for Sustainable Development and Global Competitiveness (CSDGC) at Stanford University engages in research and educational programs that integrate business development strategies with leadership practices that will ensure enterprise growth and success within a healthy and sustainable natural environment.

It is primarily responsible for the work related to smart city development such as business research, standard formulation, financing innovation support as well as industrialization promotion etc.

6.) Xinhua News Agency· Modern Smart City Magazine

Jointly published by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development· Digital City Engineering Research Center and Xinhua News Agency· Modern Express, Modern Smart City is a specialized magazine serving the development of smart cities in China. It aims to play an active role in promoting and supervising the full implementation of various requirements of the State Council regarding development of smart city, and drive the healthy and orderly development of smart cities as a research think tank.
