Learn to read the mind of your FSC auditor - or become one yourself! Our intensive FSC Expert training will equip you with the mindset and knowledge of an FSC auditor. Join our ASI accredited FSC FM course to fulfil formal FSC Forest Management auditor training requirements whilst gaining useful insight into the FSC FM system!
Our FSC Expert Course consists of two separate courses, one for Forest Management (FM) and one for Chain of Custody (CoC) certification.
This registration is for the FSC FM course, which consists of online content on our Training Hub, followed by a 4-day intensive live sessions training, covering the FSC standards and systems for Forest Management certification.
The self-study part of the course is comprised of six online modules (5 Open modules available at any time on Preferred by Nature Training Hub here, and 1 special FSC FM (for remote training) module the access for which to be provided for registered participants). All modules help to prepare for the live sessions, require 3 and a half working days for preparation, and must be completed prior to the live sessions.
More specific information can be found on the course agenda (TBA). The live sessions will be spread over two weeks and held on 8-10-15-17 November 2022 in China Standard Time zone (GMT+8). The live sessions start at 9:30 AM and last 7,5 hours.
The FSC FM Expert course is conducted in the English language. Please ensure that your language skills will allow you to fully engage in presentations, group exercises, discussions, and examinations.
FSC requirements for remote auditor training
Based on the derogation FSC-DER-2020-04 published on 23 April 2020 (amended on 12 October 2020) FSC currently allows replacing in-person auditor training with remote courses.
Preferred by Nature´s online FSC CoC training is a customised auditor training to meet the training demand during the COVID-19 pandemic, considering the travel and safety restrictions, without reducing the quality of our regular in-person auditor training held worldwide.
The content and duration of the training will meet all the standard FSC requirements for auditor training and at the same time be adjusted to be presented and acquired via different virtual tools and training methods. To enable everybody to participate actively in the live sessions and group work, the maximum number of seats is 15.
Obtaining an FSC auditor training certificate
Conditions for successful completion of the course are following*:
- Completion of all 6 online modules on Preferred by Nature Training Hub: 5 Open online modules (Introduction module, FSC Generic module, FSC auditing in relation to ISO 19011 module, FSC Trademark module, FSC FM module) and 1 special FSC FM module (for remote training)
- Active attendance at live training sessions
- Successful completion of the exam*
Students must be present in 95 per cent of live training sessions, actively engaged throughout the whole course, and have participated in individual and group exercises.
*For the participants who are not looking to acquire the auditor qualification the exam is voluntary.

The cost of participating in our exclusive online edition of the FSC CoC training course is 1,800 EUR (standard classroom price 2,000 EUR), excluding VAT. The course fee covers tuition and training materials.
