2020 marked the start of the Decade of Action, which calls for the acceleration of transformative economic, social and environmental solutions to our biggest challenges. Then the Covid-19 pandemic happened and responding to the crisis became top priority. As we reopen our borders and economies, there is an opportunity like no other for us to build back better. What would it take to spur a sustainable economic recovery, and avoid the even bigger crisis of climate change looming on the horizon?
Today’s crisis is tomorrow’s opportunity. As we look at the risks and opportunities in decarbonisation and climate action, how can we also invest better in nature and manage our limited resources? What are the key trends and levers for investors and businesses to finance and invest in a sustainable future?
Presented by Temasek, Ecosperity Week 2021 will gather global business leaders, policy-makers, investors and civil society from the region and beyond to deep dive into opportunities in the areas of decarbonisation and climate action, reimagining nature and resources, and sustainable investing and financing.
In addition to the plenaries, Ecosperity Week 2021 will also feature a range of other signature events, including the inaugural Singapore Sustainable Investing and Financing Conference (SSIFC) in partnership with BlackRock and IFC; the first-ever World Climate Forum ASIA to advance regional climate ambitions for Asia; CleanEnviro Summit Singapore (CESG) Catalyst by Singapore’s National Environment Agency; a public showcase by top teams from the Sustaintech Xcelerator – a global virtual accelerator by DBS Bank, Google, the National University of Singapore, Temasek and the World Bank; and a public Ecosperity Conversations dialogue designed to inspire youths.
The event format will be a mix of virtual and in-person at Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore.
