Ecosperity Conversations @ COP27: Transforming Food Systems—Decarbonising Rice

Rice cultivation contributes 10 per cent of global man-made methane emissions, and up to one-third of the region’s methane emissions in Southeast Asia where rice is a staple food. Sustainable rice farming is therefore essential to the net zero transition.

This session will consist of a presentation and panel discussion that brings together stakeholders across research, industry, and investment. They will share their insights on the challenges and opportunities to improve the sustainability of rice cultivation.
