Rapidly increasing damages and losses from recurrent natural disasters in the Asia-Pacific region require greater collaboration for sustainable recovery. The business sector has much to contribute in helping improve the speed and effectiveness of disaster recovery and building capacity for enhanced responses to future disasters.
CSR Asia is hosting the second annual Forum on Disaster Preparedness sponsored by Prudential Corporation Asia’s Prudence Foundation. The Forum brings together key leaders in business, humanitarian, NGO and government sectors across the Asia-Pacific region. The aim of this year’s event is to explore and discuss opportunities for cooperation on disaster recovery with a focus on building capacities well before a disaster occurs.
This one-day event will provide delegates with trends and outlook; case studies; procedures; as well as inspirations on implementing innovative partnerships for improving community disaster recovery and building more resilient communities, small businesses and local economies.
The forum also marks the release of a White Paper commissioned by the Prudence Foundation on the role Asian corporations can play in supporting sustainable disaster recovery activities, offering insight into how such engagements can provide business opportunities that are aligned with the needs of communities.
