Ashok Swain

Ashok Swain is a Professor of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University, where he also holds the UNESCO Chair on International Water Cooperation. His work examines global security, water governance, and the politics of climate change. He is the author of numerous books and articles on environmental security and transboundary water conflicts, including Climate Security (2025). He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Environment and Security.
