Brandon Courban is Investment Director at Low Carbon Investors, a specialist asset manager launching a private equity fund investing in green business opportunities in SE Asia from a base in Singapore.
Brandon has more than 10 years of energy and environment expertise, the majority of which have been undertaken in emerging markets particularly Asia. He has spent 4 years covering the Southeast Asian region for Sindicatum Carbon Capital where he was involved in originating, structuring and implementing over US$50 million of investments in clean energy projects. From a base in Jakarta and Singapore, Brandon worked with a wide range of regional stakeholders including developers, co-investors, regional funds, lenders, EPC and service providers, government and regulatory bodies. He also led the development of new CDM methodologies working with World Bank's GGFR Group, and was responsible for the issuance of approximately 2 million CERs and VERs. Brandon was previously a Senior Consultant at Mott MacDonald in London where he co-founded the Oil and Gas Consulting Group providing advisory, strategy, due diligence, structuring and implementation services to the global energy industry. In this role, he completed over 40 successful assignments for a range of blue chip organisations, funds, government and regulatory bodies on various development, buy- and sell-side transactions.
Brandon holds an MBA from the University of Hertfordshire and is a UK Chartered Engineer. He speaks conversational Bahasa Indonesian/ Malay.
