With funding from the USDA sustainable agriculture program and the University of Colorado-Boulder she conducted extensive research on inter-firm relationships and environmental factors in global supply chains. Her most recent research on U.S. beef production targets concerns with extended drought and value-added certification programs. Prior to graduate school Sarah worked in renewable energy advocacy, and enjoyed a short stint working at a florist shop.

Sarah will obtain a Ph.D in sociology (August 2014) with a specialty in environmental and economic sociology from the University of Colorado-Boulder, and she currently holds a B.A. in sociology from Reed College.
