John Kim

John Kim is the Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Amasia. Founded by John and Ramanan Raghavendran in 2013, Amasia is a thesis-driven, global VC firm that invests in sustainability via behaviour change. At Amasia, John has led investments into Tokopedia, Dialpad, The Athletic, Xendit, Super, TreeDots and Living Food among others.

Prior to Amasia, John spent over 10 years managing trading and investment strategies across multiple asset classes for Goldman Sachs, Korean National Investments, and Mercuria Energy Group.

John is a Kauffman Fellow, a member of the Young Presidents Organisation and sits on the advisory board of The Choson Exchange, a non-profit focused on training entrepreneurs in North Korea. He produces videos about the environment, faith, and culture for his vlog, “The John Kim Show.” John is also a lay preacher and board member at his church, Solomon’s Porch Singapore.

John attended the Jerome Fisher Dual Degree Program in Management and Technology at the University of Pennsylvania where he received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School and a Bachelor of Applied Science from the School of Engineering.
