Regional clean energy firm Nexif Ratch appoints CEO

Ex-BNP Paribas executive Cyril Dissescou to take over from an interim chief of the joint venture formed to develop renewables and energy storage assets in Southeast Asia and Australia.

Nexif Ratch, an energy developer of solar, wind and hydropower projects in the region, has appointed a chief executive officer to lead business growth.

Cyril Dissescou takes over from Matthew Bartley, who had been interim lead since the Singapore-based firm was established in December 2022. Bartley will remain on the company’s board.

Dissescou was previously with BNP Paribas for 20 years, and was most recently managing director of the French bank’s low carbon transition group, where he worked on corporate deals in renewables, energy infrastructure and transition metals in Asia Pacific. He has been in Singapore for 15 years.

Nexif Ratch chairman Surender Singh said Dissescou “brings great expertise” from his time at BNP Paribas, and thanked Bartley for setting Nexif Ratch “on a firm footing”.

Nexif Ratch is a joint venture between Singapore’s Nexif and Thailand’s Ratch group, two regional energy firms. It has a portfolio of close to 4,000 megawatts (MW) of projects under ownership and management in Southeast Asia and Australia. The firm has offices in Australia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

It acquired a 30MW hydropower plant in Vietnam last week, and had begun building a 74MW-peak solar power plant in the Philippines in June 2023, expected to be completed in by mid-2024. Nexif Ratch also manages battery storage, wind and gas power projects in Australia.
