Learning curves: Energy efficiency interventions

Industry and buildings account for over 70 per cent of total commercial energy consumption and 85 per cent of electricity consumption in Asia. Yet ADB support to manage energy consumption in these two sectors is a mere 4 per cent of the overall clean energy portfolio. In line with Strategy 2020, ADB is expected to move to a more balanced portfolio of supply-side and demand-side energy efficiency improvement interventions.

This edition of Learning Curves provides a summary of an evaluation report focused on energy efficiency investments in industry and  buildings, with information on how ADB may further support energy efficiency improvement on the demand side. It identifies key lessons, key findings from ADB experience and that of other development partners, and considerations going forward.
