Phono Solar and Symbior Energy sign strategic cooperation agreement for 40MW PV project
York, UK – 31 January, 2013 – Phono Solar, a global renewable energy solutions manufacturer, and Symbior Energy, a leading energy company which develops sustainable energy solutions in emerging markets, today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding regarding a strategic cooperation agreement for the development of a 40MW PV project in Thailand. Both parties agree to develop, design, construct and provide financing channels for the project.
Following the announcement of its “BRICS Strategy” last summer, Phono Solar entered the South American market in July 2012. Phono Solar considers its cooperation with Symbior Energy another step towards new markets, continuing its development in the Asia Pacific region. As a first phase, the two parties will develop an 8MW project in 2013, before a further 8MW scheduled per year.
Mr. Cai Jibo, Chairman of Phono Solar, said, “We are very happy to forge this partnership with Symbior Energy, which delivers sustainable energy solutions that foster growth in developing countries. As co-investor and module supplier, we do hope this project can help us open the gate to the Thai renewables market, and continue development in the Asia Pacific market.’’
Mr. Florian Bennhold, Vice President Business Development at Symbior Energy, said: “Symbior Energy is looking for stable and reliable partners for our sustainable energy solutions in Asia. Phono Solar’s modules have performed well in many geographies and we are looking forward to exploring some of Symbior’s projects in Thailand together with Phono Solar.”
