The latest edition of the Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow (KLIMS) will open its doors to the public on Friday, offering a glittering display of exotic and futuristic vehicles.
Organised by the Malaysian Automotive Association, the 10-day show at the Putra World Trade Centre here will feature exciting vehicles from familiar names such as Proton, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Isuzu, Naza, Chevrolet, Daihatsu, Chery, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Kia and Peugeot.
With the theme “We Care”, the focus of the show is on hybrid and electric cars that are eco-friendly.
Honda Malaysia is using the motorshow platform to launch its latest hybrid – the Insight – that promises to be an affordable model.
Other hybrids that will be making their appearances are the Toyota FT-HS, Lexus LS 600hL, Mitsubishi PX-MiEV and Chery A5 BSG.
Even the historic Chevrolet – in which the country’s first Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman was chauffeured on his way to declare the nation’s independence at Stadium Merdeka on Aug 31, 1957 – will be there, all spruced up looking its best.
KLIMS will also feature a 16ft-tall life-sized replica of the loveable Transformer Bumblebee, a Chevrolet Camaro SS which Bumblebee transforms into, the Batmobile “Tumbler” and Batman, the caped crime fighter of Gotham City himself.
Visitors can also shop for an array of car-related accessories such as window tinting, hi-fi systems, security systems and satellite navigation systems or even collectibles and merchandising from motorsports outfit such as Ralliart.
Tickets are priced at RM15 (weekdays) and RM20 (weekends) for adults and RM5 for children.
The family package, which entitles entry to parents with up to five children under the age of 12, is also available for RM30 (weekdays) and RM40 (weekends).
