India flush with green jobs by 2020

The renewable energy sector may open up 24 lakh jobs in India by 2020, according to a new report by non-governmental organisation Greenpeace. The study said hiring activity in the renewables sector is two to three times more compared to conventional sources of power like coal. It adds that if India goes all out in its renewable energy investments, green jobs could increase 14-fold in 2030.
