B Lab, the organisation behind the B Corp business sustainability certification scheme, has rejigged its management structure in Singapore following the departure of its chief executive.
Amelie Remond, a former asset management and insurance executive who joined B Lab Singapore as CEO in May 2023, teaming up with founding director Caroline Seow, resigned in December the same year.

Remond joined the organisation to help accelerate the B Corp movement in Southeast Asia, where it is still a relatively new concept. To get certified as a B Corp, or “beneficial corporation”, businesses must complete a rigorous assessment of their social and environmental credentials. To stay certified, B Corps must show continuous improvement. There are more than 8,000 B Corps globally, 40 in Singapore and 52 in other Southeast Asian countries. B Lab is aiming to certify 100 companies in Singapore by 2025.
B Lab Singapore has not filled the CEO position, but made two functional head appointments since Remond’s departure. Cecilia Hough has joined as lead for impact management and Keith Tan as head of business development and operations.
Hough was previously assistant manager at MINDS Bakers, a social enterprise that provides sheltered employment to adults with intellectual disabilities in Singapore. Tan, a marketer by background, founded Axpara.com, a human resources and technology services firm, and marketing and technology solutions Start Now.
Eco-Business understands that chief operating officer Prisca Lim, who joined B Lab in 2022, has gone on sabbatical.
B Lab has faced scrunity for certifying businesses linked to climate harm in recent weeks. B Lab is currently investigating the B Corp status of media agencies owned by French communications giant Havas, which recently started working for oil major Shell, following complaints from other B Corp-certified agencies.
