The Asia LEDS Workshop “ Mechanisms that Catalyze Finance for Grid-Connected Clean Energy in Asia” is regional workshop organized by the Asia Low Emission Development Strategies (LEDS) Partnership, and is hosted by the Government of Viet Nam through the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), with technical support from the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT). Workshop sponsors and key contributors include the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), LEDS Global Partnership’s Energy Working Group (EWG), European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, and other partners.

The theme of the workshop is developing sustainable energy solutions require the identification, design, and implementation of both policy measures and financial instruments that catalyze the deployment of grid-connected renewable energy sources,

This regional workshop will convene key officials from central government planning, finance, and energy ministries; international experts; finance institutions; and utilities and system operators to share experiences about how their countries can design and implement policy measures and financial mechanisms that can accelerate investment for grid-connected projects.
