ECCP to host 9th Sustainable Agriculture Forum

Makati City, Philippines — The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) will hold the 9th instalment of its Sustainable Agriculture Forum on 30 April 2026 at Raffles & Fairmont Makati.

With the theme “Cultivating Resilience: Advancing Food Security and Climate-Smart Growth in Philippine Agriculture,” this high-level forum aims to spark meaningful dialogue, share practical solutions, and strengthen sectoral collaboration toward a more resilient and climate-smart agricultural future for the Philippines.

The program will feature three sessions focused on advancing sustainability; strengthening food security and supporting the growth of high-value crops, livestock, and fisheries; as well as nurturing impactful partnerships that better support farmers.

The event will bring together a distinguished lineup of speakers, including leaders from the government, private sector, and development organisations, who will share insights into the sector’s opportunities and most pressing challenges.

Speakers include Hon. Francisco P. Tiu Laurel, Jr., Secretary of the Department of Agriculture; H.E. Massimo Santoro, Ambassador at the Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines; Dr Constante Palabrica, Undersecretary for Livestock of the Department of Agriculture; Mr James P. Amparo, CEO and President of Yovel East Research & Development Inc.; Atty Arthur C. Yap, Congressman at the House of Representatives; Dr Dexter Buted, Administrator and CEO of the Philippine Coconut Authority; Mr Leandro “Dax” Gazmin, Executive Director of the Philippines Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture (PPSA); Engr Ismail A. Guiamel, Bangsamoro Director General for Agriculture Services at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform in BARMM; and Mr. Julius Barcelona, Chief Operating Officer of Harbest Agribusiness Corporation.

The program will feature panellists Ms Amy Melissa Chua, Director for CSR, Communications, and Engagement of Jollibee Group Foundation, together with Mr Uynghiem Ngo, Chief Information Officer of OMTSE and RTNZ Technology Partner. The sessions will also be moderated by ECCP Agriculture Committee Chair Ms Ruth Novales, alongside Co-Chairs Dr Mary Ann Sayoc and Mr Tom van der Meulen, and hosted by Mr Anton Palo, General Manager of Foodline Advocacy Co-operative.

With global and local pressures intensifying today, the forum underscores the importance of sustainable, climate-smart, and investment-ready agricultural systems to strengthen rural prosperity and ensure the country’s future and food supply.
