Macquarie Group Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Australian financial services giant Macquarie Group, has appointed Jasmine Chew as Asia head.
She joins the foundation from Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN), where she spent five and a half years at the impact investor network, latterly as head of its capital mobilisation team.
Macquarie Group Foundation provides financial support and skill-sharing resources to organisations in Macquarie’s key locations, which in Asia include China, India, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
The group, which has invested A$300 million (US$213 million) in health, education, welfare and environment programmes since its inception in 1985, recently donated A$3.5 million (US$2.5 million) to organisations providing humanitarian aid in war-torn Ukraine.
Chew will be based in Singapore.
Prior to AVPN, Chew had a short stint at City Developments Limited as corporate social responsibility manager.
She has also worked at Singapore International Foundation, as head of its Good Business departnment, and for shipping firm Maersk, managing client accounts.
