The renewable energy developer achieved significant permitting and commercial milestones this year, reflecting project development expertise and a long-term commitment to the Korean market
Seoul, Wednesday, 4 November 2026 – Leading Asian energy developer Gurīn Energy was recognised at the Invest Korea Summit today for its renewable energy investments in South Korea, alongside six global companies supporting the country’s strategic industries.
Gurīn Energy CEO, Mr Assaad Razzouk, met with Mr Park Jung-sung, Minister of Trade, Industry and Resources (MOTIR) at the Investment Ceremony in Seoul today and reaffirmed the company’s continued commitment to renewable energy investment in South Korea.
Gurīn Energy’s planned investments include solar projects in Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City and onshore wind projects in Gyeongju, Gyeongsang Province. Together, they broaden the range of renewable energy investments recognised at the Summit, which in recent years has been largely focused offshore wind projects.

Clean, renewable energy is increasingly critical for nations in the 21st century. The Investment Ceremony, held as part of the annual Invest Korea Summit, gathers global companies making major investments in South Korea. The Summit, which has been running for 22 years, is hosted by the MOTIR and organised by the Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).
Committed to South Korea for the long term
Headquartered in Singapore, Gurīn Energy entered the Korean market in 2022. Since then, the company has built up a 600MW project pipeline of renewable energy projects and opened two offices – one in Gwangju and a second in Seoul. Gurīn Energy also secured 379MW in electricity business licences from the government earlier this year, reflecting the high standards of Gurīn Energy’s project development work.
Furthermore, Gurīn Energy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with top Korean tech company NAVER in September this year. Under the terms of the MoU, NAVER will acquire a stake in Gurīn Energy’s solar project on Jindo Island and enter into a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) to purchase the renewable electricity generated by the solar farm. The energy will help NAVER ensure a stable supply of clean electricity for its AI and cloud infrastructure, including its data centres.
