GlacialPower, a division of the LED technology manufacturer GlacialTech Inc, is today pleased to announce the launch of the GP-LD15-40C, a new LED driver suitable for variable voltage LED lights from 30V up to 40V, with a rated output power of 14W. The GP-LD15-40C supports input voltage ranges from 11V to 15VDC, and 22V to 30VDC. This rugged, weatherproof driver offers many built in safety features to protect itself, and connected devices including batteries and LED modules.
The ideal LED driver for vehicles, boats and ships
This LED driver is suitable for a wide range of scenarios – in particular for lighting systems on boats, vehicles and vessels. It works well with a variety of lower voltage power sources in which the voltage level may fluctuate significantly, including 12VDC, 24VDC, battery power and solar power.
An IP67 weatherproof LED driver
The GP-LD15-40C is a driver that is able to stand up to the most challenging environments and frequent exposure to extreme weather, thanks to its highly secure and tough IP67 rated enclosure which reliably keeps out dust and water. In addition, it has a wide operating temperature range, from -20 to 40 °C at full load. Numerous power and environmental ruggedness features ensure maximum safety in all conditions.
Safety features for LED, battery and driver protection
This new driver features constant current mode, and a variety of safety features to handle instability and ripple in the power input. The built in under-voltage lockout (UVLO) prevents damage and destruction of batteries caused by accidental deep discharging. The UVLO feature automatically shuts down the driver when voltage falls too low, to avoid continuing to drain low batteries. Other built in safety features include short circuit protection (SCP) and over voltage protection (OVP), to protect the driver, LEDs, and connected devices.
The GP-LD15-40C provides reverse input power protection to guard against the common danger for battery and solar power devices in which positive and negative power lines are accidentally reversed when the power is connected. In this case, the driver will automatically disconnect the current, to avoid damage to the driver itself and to batteries and other devices connected to it.
