Despite strong growth in electric vehicle uptake over the past decade, Southeast Asia's transition remains uneven. Solutions such as carbon credits could provide an additional revenue stream to improve project bankability, amid evolving regulations and market demand.
The United States-led partnership, that aims to position the country as a strategic hub for critical minerals, must embed climate justice, gender equity and community participation from the outset to ensure a just energy transition, warn women advocates.
Measures are aimed at helping Seoul meet its 2030 climate targets by accelerating transport sector decarbonisation.
