The Asia-Pacific Forum on Low-Carbon Development

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has issued a call for registrants for an upcoming forum on low carbon technology hosted by the People’s Republic of China (PRC) this month.

The Asia Pacific Forum on Low Carbon Technologiesaims to support and promote cooperation, innovation, and commercially scalable low-carbon solutions for green development in urban areas and the rural countryside.

The forum is organised by ADB and the Hunan Department of Ecology and Environment (DEE) in Changsha, Hunan Province from 16–18 October.

The Hunan Innovative Low-Carbon Center and Broad Group is also a co-organizer.

With the theme, “Low Carbon Solutions for Our Green Future,” the forum will focus on technical innovations for a low-carbon future for the Asia and Pacific region and bring together policymakers, businesses, and innovators to share new ideas and business models.

With keynotes speeches from former United Nations Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki Moon and the Special Representative for Climate Change Affairs of the National Development and Reform Commission Mr. Xie ZhenHua, the forum will look into the industrial transformation needed for low-carbon economies, including future energy services, pollution control, revolutions in building design, zero-waste cities, and other technical advances.

Last year’s forum attracted 550 people from 37 countries. Registrations are free and can be made at http://en.aplctsummit.com/.
