Institute of Directors is organizing the ‘18th World Congress on Environment Management’, on 8 - 9 July, 2016, at The Ashok Hotel, New Delhi, India. The theme of the Congress is ‘Environment and Climate Change - Transitioning to a Sustainable Economy’.
Two significant events that will impact the future course of global development have taken place during 2015. The first was the UN declaration of ‘Sustainable Development Goals’ and ‘Agenda 2030’, and the second was the ‘Paris Climate Change Agreement’ (COP 21) of December, 2015. The Paris Agreement has been ratified on 22 April 2016 in New York. India played an important role in both these agreements. A major element in these agreements is the role of business and industry, as partners with the government.
The objective of the Congress is to identify practical market solutions for present strategic and operational environmental and climate change challenges, and to evolve models for their effective implementations to attain our national targets for smooth transition to a sustainable green economy.
