Intelligence Senior Trainer, Malaysia

The role 

We are looking for an experienced and engaging trainer to join Eco-Business’s ESG Intelligence division in Malaysia. 

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys developing professionals and organisations through high-quality learning experiences. You should be confident facilitating workshops for senior executives, government agencies, financial institutions and corporate clients, while translating complex sustainability topics into practical business insights. 

Working closely with our regional ESG Intelligence team, you will lead the delivery and development of sustainability capability-building programmes across Malaysia and the wider Asia Pacific region. You should be comfortable working independently, managing client engagements, and maintaining a consistently high standard of training delivery. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Lead the delivery of sustainability, ESG and climate-related training programmes for corporate, financial institution, government and SME clients.  
  • Design, customise and continuously improve training materials, exercises and learning content to meet client objectives.  
  • Facilitate interactive workshops, board briefings and executive education sessions, both in person and virtually.  
  • Support the growth of Eco-Business’s capability-building business in Malaysia by working closely with the Partnerships and Intelligence teams on client proposals and solution design.  
  • Present practical insights on sustainability, ESG, climate transition, sustainable finance and related topics.  
  • Build strong relationships with clients to understand their learning needs and identify opportunities for further capability-building support.  
  • Support the development of e-learning content and other learning solutions where required.  
  • Represent Eco-Business as a speaker, facilitator or moderator at industry events and conferences.  
  • Contribute thought leadership through articles, presentations or other knowledge-sharing initiatives where appropriate.  
  • Support the wider ESG Intelligence team on regional projects as required.  
  • Occasional travel within Malaysia and the Asia Pacific region may be required.  


Required experience and skills:

  • At least 5 years’ experience delivering professional training, executive education or organisational capability-building programmes.  
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops for corporate, financial services and/or public sector audiences.  
  • Strong presentation, facilitation and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.  
  • Excellent stakeholder and client relationship management skills.  
  • Strong understanding of sustainability, ESG, climate change, sustainable finance or related business topics.  
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into practical and engaging learning experiences.  
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with excellent attention to detail.  
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with regional teams.  
  • A university degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Public Policy, Communications or another relevant discipline.  


Preferred qualifications and experience:
 

  • HRD Corp Accredited Trainer certification is required (or the ability to obtain accreditation within an agreed timeframe, if preferred).  
  • Experience designing adult learning programmes and training curricula.  
  • Familiarity with Malaysian sustainability regulations, ESG reporting requirements and corporate sustainability practices.  
  • Experience delivering virtual learning and blended learning programmes.  
  • Knowledge of sustainable finance, climate risk, carbon markets or ESG reporting frameworks would be advantageous.  
  • Ability to speak Bahasa Malaysia and/or other Asian languages would be an advantage.  
  • Experience facilitating conferences, roundtables and executive dialogues.  


Candidates based outside Malaysia with exceptional qualifications and relevant experience may also be considered.
