Australia’s rendering industry takes centre stage as renewable fuels, global trade and sustainability reshape the sector
With exports valued at $1.5 billion, the sector is increasingly central to conversations around renewable fuels, circular manufacturing and sustainable production will come together in Melbourne this 15-17 September as the Australian Renderers Association (ARA) hosts its 18th International Symposium.
Held under the theme Aligning Industry with Purpose, the Symposium will bring together industry leaders, government, researchers and international market experts to examine the commercial, operational and policy issues shaping one of Australia’s most important circular economy industries.

Designed for plant operators, managers and technical teams, Industry Day focuses on the practical realities of rendering operations:

About the Australian Renderers Association (ARA): The Australian Renderers Association (ARA) is the national industry body for Australia’s rendering industry and used cooking oil recycling sector. The ARA represents and advocates for the interests of businesses involved in processing and exporting rendered animal products, including tallow and animal protein meals, as well as used cooking oil, in domestic and international markets. The industry converts material from the meat processing sector that is not suitable for human consumption into valuable products used in pet food, stockfeed, aquafeed, biofuels, cosmetics and industrial applications, contributing to a more sustainable and circular economy.
