SG Eco Loop Public Showcase
Singapore generated approximately 1,700,000 tonnes of plastic and food waste in 2025, and recycled only ~10% of this. Over six weeks, 130+ students across 40 teams have been working on ways to change these numbers, one prototype at a time, alongside industry mentors and partners challenging them to build real solutions for real problems. They will be competing for a chance to win the top prizes for Biggest Impact and Best Innovation.
Come see what they built. Expect solutions built for actual deployment, not just a slide deck. Teams have spent weeks turning ideas into working prototypes and mapping out how each one could scale beyond the programme. A few flavours of what you’ll find on the floor: black soldier flies turning food scraps into value, upcycled materials reborn as everyday products, tools that map where waste really goes, campaigns designed to make sorting habits stick, and tech ranging from AI to augmented reality.

SG Eco Loop | The Nationwide Quest for the Next Generation of Sustainable Innovators
SG Eco Loop is a nationwide programme for IHL students to learn about plastic and food waste by building real prototypes. Students go through a six-week journey covering an online kickoff, a hackathon, mentor check-ins, and a public showcase.
This Singapore Deep-Tech Alliance (SDTA) programme is funded by the SG Eco Fund under the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment and catalysed by Temasek Foundation’s OSCAR Grant. SG Eco Loop aims to engage 4,000 students and supporters to divert 10,000 kg of food and plastic waste over the next 2 years.
