The Singapore firm has said it would acquire the Chow Tai Fook Enterprises-owned coal, gas, wind and solar firm, but there are no plans to retire a 1,200-megawatt coal plant, arguing it needed to provide affordable and secure energy, even as Australia grows its renewables capacity.
