The Indonesian government will offer the Malaysian government the opportunity to invest in the agricultural sector in Indonesia, a top official said Monday.
“The investment offer is part of efforts to stabilize national and ASEAN food security,” said Agriculture Minister Suswono as quoted by tempointeraktif.com in Bandung, West Java, on Monday.
Suswono said that the investment would focus on cultivating medicinal plants, herbs and horticulture in addition to rice and cornfields, and orchids.
Areas in Sulawesi will become the center for investment.
The Sulawesi administration has welcomed the investment plan, Suswono said.
