NVPC’s Company of Good marks 10 years, with over 1,000 businesses creating positive impact across Singapore

Singapore, 20 July 2026  481 purpose-driven businesses have been recognised as Companies of Good in 2026, bringing the total number of companies conferred under the refreshed Company of Good (COG) Recognition System to 1,046 over three years. This milestone comes as the Company of Good movement marks its 10th anniversary this year and reflects the growing adoption of Corporate Purpose across Singapore’s business community.

Together, recognised Companies of Good over the past three years have contributed nearly S$384 million in donations, over S$85 million in donations in-kind, and more than 1.1 million volunteer hours, demonstrating the tangible impact that purpose-driven businesses have created for society.

This was announced at the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre’s (NVPC) Company of Good Conference and Conferment today at Fairmont Singapore, where close to 700 business leaders gathered. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Gan Kim Yong, attended the event as the guest of honour, conferring the Champion of Good recognition to 63 organisations.

Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ms Low Yen Ling also graced the event as Special Guest, conferring the Company of Good – 3 Hearts recognition to 113 organisations.  In her keynote address at the conference, themed “10x: Multiplying Impact Through Purpose,” she highlighted the growing imperative for businesses to embed purpose into their core strategy.

A growing movement across all sizes and sectors

NVPC’s COG recognition system recognises organisations in Singapore for their commitment to Corporate Purpose and contributions across five areas – People, Society, Environment, Governance, and Economic. Designed around the principles of inclusivity and progression, the recognition system celebrates organisations at different stages of their journey, which include recipients of the Company of Good – 1 Heart, Company of Good – 2 Hearts, Company of Good – 3 Hearts, and Champion of Good.

This year, 481 companies were conferred, comprising 63 Champions of Good, 113 Company of Good – 3 Hearts, 128 Company of Good – 2 Hearts, and 177 Company of Good – 1 Heart recipients. Small & Medium Enterprises formed the majority of this year’s cohort, with 376 companies (78 per cent), followed by 103 Large Enterprises (21 per cent) and two Public Service Agencies (0.4 per cent).

Corporate purpose translating into societal impact

The scale of participation reflects how broadly Corporate Purpose has taken root across Singapore’s business landscape. Organisations participating in the COG recognition system continue to create meaningful impact for society and communities in Singapore.

NCS exemplifies this progression, having advanced from a Company of Good – 3 Hearts recipient in 2025 to a Champion of Good in 2026. Over the past year, NCS increased its donations and more than doubled its volunteer hours from almost 4,700 to 9,800. NCS, an AI-led tech services company, leveraged its technology expertise to create positive societal impact through initiatives spanning digital inclusion, education, and youth development. One notable initiative equipped children from disadvantaged backgrounds with essential digital skills through workshops in generative AI, programming and digital design to help them keep pace with technological advancements and build confidence in using technology for learning.

Nava 1872, operating as The 1872 Clipper Tea Co., has similarly progressed from a Company of Good – 3 Hearts recipient in 2024 to a Champion of Good in 2026. While the company had long supported social causes and community initiatives through in-kind donations to charities, it has since embedded positive societal impact more deeply into its business operations. In support of The National Kidney Foundation, The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. has created employment and skills development opportunities at its tea bars for individuals undergoing treatment who may otherwise face barriers to workforce participation.

From building a movement to multiplying impact

As the Company of Good movement marks its 10th anniversary in 2026, the focus for the decade ahead is on multiplying impact. Companies are encouraged to play a multiplier role within the broader business ecosystem by engaging their value chains and industry relationships, creating opportunities for others to contribute alongside them on their Corporate Purpose journey.

An example of a multiplier is Chye Thiam Maintenance (CTM), a 2025 Champion of Good. Recognising that impact can go further when organisations work together, CTM brought together more than 60 employees, existing contractors and new industry connections, including newly conferred Company of Good – 3 Hearts recipient Hexacon Construction and Shin Seiki, to refresh over 10 homes for disadvantaged seniors in Sengkang. Through such efforts, as well as sharing its Corporate Purpose journey with members of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Youth Business Affairs Committee, CTM has encouraged other organisations to begin their own purpose journeys. One such organisation was Shin Seiki, which is a Company of Good – 2 Hearts recipient this year.

The multiplier effect can also be seen at the ecosystem level. The 10th anniversary of COG also marks the launch of a new collaboration to strengthen food security and support vulnerable communities in Singapore. Initiated by the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (ASME), the effort aims to rally businesses across Singapore to support The Food Bank Singapore by adopting food donation boxes. Recognising the logistical coordination required to make this work at scale, Call Lade Enterprises, a 2025 Champion of Good, stepped forward as a logistic partner and a newly conferred Company of Good – 2 Hearts, Cheng Heng Paper Products Co, has also come on board as a partner to sponsor paper cartons. The collaboration will bring together businesses, logistics capabilities and community networks to reduce food waste, strengthen supply chain coordination and improve the efficiency of food distribution to beneficiaries across Singapore.

Mr Tony Soh, CEO, NVPC, said, “Ten years on, Company of Good has shown that Corporate Purpose is increasingly becoming an integral part of how organisations create value for their stakeholders and the broader society. As we look ahead, NVPC will focus on strengthening the community of Companies of Good and enabling organisations to learn from one another, collaborate across businesses and sectors and create impact together. This is how we will grow the “profit with purpose” movement — not only by recognising organisations for the good they do, but by empowering them to inspire and catalyse positive action across the business community and in the wider society.”
