Mumbai may be under water by 2070

An estimated 11.4 million people and assets worth $1.3 trillion in Mumbai are in danger from severe flooding and climatic extremes by 2070. India’s financial capital remains in sixth place among 20 port cities in the world at risk from severe storm-surge flooding, damage from high storm winds and rising seas, according to an ongoing study by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The study also adds that rampant concretization in global cities is causing fluctuations in temperatures and changes in microclimates which could paint a disastrous picture by 2070.
