Bo Li

Research Analyst, Forests Program

Bo is a Research Analyst in the Forests Program at WRI. He works with the Forest Legality Team, which aims to reduce illegal logging and promote sustainable forest management by driving changes in supply chain and forest governance. Bo conducts qualitative and quantitative research on global timber trade and investment with a focus on China and Africa. He also supports the development of a practical timber trade and legality information platform.

Bo previously worked with the Restoration Team at WRI accessing the motivating, enabling, and implanting factors of land restoration in Ecuador. He was also a research assistant at Johns Hopkins University conducting research on carbon tax and environmental policies in China.

Bo holds an M.A. in international relations from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in Washington D.C. and a B.A. in development economics from Peking University in China.

In his free time, Bo enjoys hiking, exploring the outdoors, and watching basketball games. He is a big fan of San Antonio Spurs.
