World Climate Ltd and Vestas announce partnership for upcoming World Climate Summit

The World Climate Ltd on October 7 announced its partnership with Vestas, the only global energy company dedicated exclusively to wind energy, for the upcoming World Climate Summit, the original business, finance and government leaders forum during the UNFCCC COP 21.

“Wind energy is a key solution to climate change,” said Anders Runevad, CEO of Vestas. “Wind energy is already a deployed and cost effective solution as onshore wind is within the same cost range as fossil fuel generated electricity. With a few changes to improve market design and improve the energy system for renewables, we can speed up drastically the integration of wind and continue to fight climate change. Dealing with climate change starts with wind.”

Anders Runevad will be part of a panel discussing the Solutions Agenda and bottom-up support for a global agreement.

“We are pleased to partner up with Vestas for this year’s World Climate Summit, that is taking place alongside the historic climate change talks,” Jens Nielsen, CEO of World Climate Ltd, organiser of the World Climate Summit. “With their clean energy initiatives and strong support for the fight against climate change, Vestas will contribute greatly to the World Climate Summit program and to climate change solutions overall.”

Organised by World Climate Ltd, Sustainia, and Image & Stratégie, the World Climate Summit takes place this year on December 6 in Paris, France. World Climate Summit will showcase innovation and initiatives of businesses, financiers, and governments in solving climate change through a variety of panel discussions, workshops, and networking sessions. The Summit will conclude with the prestigious Sustainia Awards ceremony.
