The World Economic Forum Global Risks Report 2024 states that environmental risks could hit a point of no return. Extreme weather was highlighted as the second-most severe risk over the two- year time frame, and nearly all environmental risks were ranked among the top 10 over the longer term.

In January this year, the results of Singapore’s Third National Climate Change Study were released. To address the looming threats stalking Singapore and the world, we need all hands on deck to tackle the climate emergency. We believe that the youth of today can shape the world of tomorrow to drive innovative business solutions and positive change.

Are you aspiring to drive change in our society and accelerate businesses’ commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? If you believe that businesses can do good for the community and the environment while doing well financially, the CDL-GCNS Young SDG Leaders Awards is for you!

Jointly organised by City Developments Limited (CDL) and UN Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS), this annual case competition offers young people a platform to champion sustainable development and SDG integration into business for positive change.

Previously known as the CDL-GCNS Young CSR Leaders Award, the competition has nurtured over 3,700 young leaders since inception in 2011. By aligning with the global goals for sustainable development, the Award seeks to educate and empower young leaders with SDG knowledge and skills, while inspiring companies in Singapore to take concrete actions for the SDGs.
