Facebook is hiring a Sustainability Program Manager to join the Infrastructure Sustainability team focused on the Responsible Supply Chain (RSC) program. This position will be focused on managing social and environmental responsibility findings with suppliers and supporting RSC Health & Safety and Labor engagement programs across Facebook’s supply chain. We are looking for candidates with experience implementing and managing responsible supply chain activities and working with suppliers and stakeholders in technology supply chains.

Sustainability Program Manager, Responsible Supply Chain Responsibilities

  •  Examine through root cause analysis and manage supplier performance improvements against RSC standards
  • Contribute to improvement programs that support sustained high supplier performance
  • Support implementation of social and environmental responsibility programs and assurance activities at Facebook suppliers
  • Maintain positive, proactive relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders
  • Engage with sourcing (procurement), legal, business units and other cross-functional teams to align program objectives and manage key metrics
  • Provide day-to-day coordination for projects and effectively communicate status and priorities to team members and cross-functional partners
  • Assess opportunities, risks and trends in priority sourcing countries
  • Contribute to internal and external reporting and communications, represent Facebook externally, as needed
  • Contribute to the RSC assurance program strategy and its implementation 

Minimum Qualifications

  • First level university degree in business management, natural sciences or similar
  • At least four to six years’ work experience and subject matter expertise in social compliance or supply chain labor, human rights, and health & safety
  • Strong program management skills with demonstrated ability to self-manage complex program delivery on a regional level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin. Mandarin is required because the role manages relationships / communications with vendors in China and communications are generally made in Mandarin.
  • Proven ability to deliver results through personal leadership and influencing others
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and reconcile conflicting inputs and propose go-forward solutions that meet the needs of the overall group and the individuals
  • Strong sense of diplomacy
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn
  • This role requires travel (25%-30%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in supply chains, ethical sourcing field, including supplier on-site assessments & development
  • Experience with supply chain codes of conduct preferably in technology sector
  • An advanced degree in sustainability related field, human rights, environment, health & safety, corporate responsibility or public policy
  • Proficiency in Asian languages, for example Cantonese, Malay, Nepalese, Thai, Vietnamese, Burmese and Indonesian
