Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS) is seeking an experienced events and project manager to oversee GCNS’ strategic initiatives and flagship events, including the annual GCNS Summit and Apex Corporate Sustainability Awards.

To succeed in the role, you will be a highly motivated, strategic and organised project manager. You will possess a blend of project management, programme design/curation and event execution experience that enables you to define the vision for an event, influence senior leaders and strategic partners for support, and manage the team through execution.

The successful candidate will join an active UN Global Compact local network - an ambitious team that is energised behind our mission to promote corporate sustainability and responsible business in Singapore and the region.


GCNS Flagship Events

  • Organise and manage the annual GCNS Summit from end-to-end. This entails all aspects of pre-event management (including programme design, recruiting speakers, negotiating contracts, managing an internal event advisory committee) and on-site production through to analysing the success of the event.
  • Organise and manage the annual Apex Corporate Sustainability Awards. This entails working with Knowledge Partners and internal managers to assess applications, coordinate site visits, oversee the judging process and host the Award Ceremony.
  • Develop and implement impactful sponsorship packages for GCNS’ flagship events.
  • Engage with relevant government or private funding agencies on grant opportunities, and ensure proper recording and documentation of grant applications.

Community Events and Strategic Engagements

  • Organise and execute Thought Leadership events as required.
  • Identify and lead strategic opportunities to enhance GCNS’ visibility and value to members, including GCNS’ participation in regional and global events.
  • Drive engagement with ecosystem partners and trade associations and chambers (TACs) to identify collaboration opportunities.


  • Prepare and manage project budgets and adhere to financial processes.
  • Conduct research, feedback surveys, and event analysis; produce resources and reports on project activities.
  • Serve as key account manager for select GCNS members/partners
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Deputy Executive Director.


  • A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in event planning (for both in-person and virtual events)
  • Experienced in organising large scale conferences (>300+ pax) is highly desired
  • Track record in securing sponsorships/grants
  • Skilled contract negotiator with a track record of securing results within allocated budgets
  • Organised and meticulous
  • Anticipates risks and prepares contingencies when planning. Nimble and adaptive as necessary.
  • Strong communicator (written and verbal).
  • Able to initiate partnerships and maintain positive relations
  • Sound understanding of sustainability and the SDGs, with a strong interest to learn more about specific sustainability issues
  • Possess a positive work ethic and determination in achieving targets within tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Able to work within a small team dynamic and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
  • Accept that OT is necessary at times
