As a Senior Manager and Consultant, this role plays a vital role in developing South Pole’s approach to our consultancy offering in the European Financial Sector. This role will focus on overseeing a platform on European Financial Centers for Sustainability (FC4S), managing sustainable finance data projects as well as consulting with financial industry clients on green products. In addition, the role will be tasked with developing strong networks with key stakeholders in the financial industry, building partnerships, networking and securing new mandates. Tasks and responsibilities

  • Manage consulting mandates and platforms on sustainable finance within Europe (with a focus on the platform
  • FC4S), potentially also expanding to opportunities beyond Europe
  • Oversee the development of Expressions of Interest and winning proposals to acquire sustainable finance consultancy as well as funds and platforms management mandates in Europe and globally
  • Guide and supervise teams of consultants on consultancy mandates
  • Responsible for the overall profitability of assigned mandates including ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with relevant stakeholders such as investors, asset managers, regulators, data providers, and government officials
  • Support the development develop new business opportunities

Your profile

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent, ideally with some post-graduate work in sustainable and/or green finance, environmental sciences, finance, or sustainability related disciplines
  • 6-10 years of relevant work experience in financial industry consultancy, investments, research and/or business development
  • Previous experience of managing internal and/or external collaborators on specific financial sector projects/consultancy and/or collaborative action platform mandates
  • Familiarity with sustainable finance, impact investing and/or Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) related topics
  • Managing project budgets
  • Proven ability to create high quality written documents (proposals and deliverables) in English
  • Strong technical and financial expertise on financial sector consultancy, investments, implementation and business development
  • Commercial skills and good business sense to be able to identify and seize opportunities in a fast-paced and competitive market environment
  • An existing network of financial industry stakeholders, potential clients and other relevant stakeholders in Europe
  • Excellent oral and written command of English, professional proficiency in other national or regional languages is of advantage
