As a Senior Consultant Sustainable Cities and Regions, you will focus on the successful and efficient implementation of our mandates and the delivery of high quality consultancy reports, as well as programme management of projects on climate change mitigation solutions. You will be the first contact for specific proposals/projects and responsible for the execution of all tasks planned and the completion of all deliverables to be submitted to the client. In addition, you will take responsibility for the quality and the commercial viability of the engagements and help South Pole to become a leading provider of sustainability solutions. Tasks and responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of consulting mandates and project management on Sustainable Cities and Regions, interact closely with our internal team of consultants and our clients
  • Plan consulting mandates with necessary know-how and skill set to ensure the most efficient and highest quality implementation of our mandates
  • Support our Key Account Management team in business development
  • Develop proposals with the responsible key account managers and consulting staff
  • Help to shape South Pole’s strategy in the field of Sustainable Cities and Regions in order to accelerate urban growth
  • Topics of engagement may include: climate change mitigation, resilience, resource efficiency through dense urban systems as well as the interface of urban and rural areas, infrastructure and urban planning regarding its potential to reduce emissions (waste water and waste management, transport, air pollution monitoring, building retrofit etc.) and provide green bonds and city-level financing or infrastructure financing

 

Your profile

  • A Master’s degree, ideally in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Economics, Urban Planing or other sustainability-related disciplines
  • At least 5-7 years of relevant work experience in Sustainable Cities and Consultancy
  • Proven experience to create high-quality written documents (proposals and deliverables) in English
  • Sound understanding of environmental sustainability challenges in multinational companies, especially with the integration of sustainability in cities
  • Strong technical and financial expertise on sustainable cities topics
  • Experienced project manager in a multi-stakeholder and multi-geographies/international context with project budgets over 100k EUR in size
  • Commercial skills and good business sense to be able to identify and seize opportunities in a challenging and competitive market environment
  • Proven knowledge and network in the relevant fields
  • Track record in developing climate change mitigation projects, programs or instruments across sectors and technologies would be an asset
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English (mother tongue or equivalent, non-negotiable)
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish, German or French is of advantage
  • National, or holder of a valid required work visa in host country
