As part of the Corporate Risks and Opportunities team, you will focus on the delivery of high quality consultancy advice on climate change mitigation solutions to the corporate sector, and be responsible for the management of project teams. You will also lead the development of proposals and participate in business development activities and new service creation. You are responsible for the quality and the commercial viability of the engagements and will help South Pole to maintain our position as a leading provider of sustainability solutions.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, management and execution of consulting mandates to ensure the most efficient and highest quality implementation
  • Provide supervision, guidance and technical leadership in international consulting mandates
  • Collaborate with the Key Account Management team in the execution of business development for the corporate sector
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients
  • Contribute to the successful winning and delivery of corporate consulting mandates
  • Collaborate with senior consulting staff and the Key Account Management team to further develop thought leadership, services and marketing materials, to further develop our corporate offerings
  • Lead and potentially directly manage small consultant teams
  • Participate in business strategy and leadership relevant internal discussions to well position our corporate consulting activities within South Pole’s overall business and offering
  • Topics of consulting mandates may include: Corporate climate strategies, GHG accounting and disclosure, climate change mitigation, Science Based Targets (SBTs), risk assessment and TCFD, materiality assessment, energy efficiency, Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), Sustainable Development Goals, renewable energy strategy, etc.

Your profile

  • A university degree, ideally in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering, Economics or sustainability-related disciplines
  • At least 6 years of relevant work experience in the corporate sector of which at least partly in corporate consulting
  • Sound understanding of environmental sustainability challenges in multinational companies
  • Specific consultancy experience in: sustainability and corporate risks, consultancy for corporate clients, particularly in topics related to GHG accounting, reduction, mitigation and disclosure, energy efficiency and renewable energy strategy and developing corporate climate change strategies
  • Experienced project manager in a multi-stakeholder and multi-geographies/international context
  • Commercial skills and good business sense to be able to identify and seize opportunities in a challenging and competitive market environment
  • Leadership and strategic management experience is of advantage
  • Practical experience in sustainability strategy, GHG management, adaptation, change management is desirable
  • Proven knowledge and network in the relevant fields
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English and Spanish (mother tongue or equivalent, non-negotiable)
