As a part of the Projects and Development team, you will play a leading role in contributing to the carbon markets of tomorrow by implementing and managing the emission reduction projects and developing direct client relationship.

You will be working with local communities and private owners for the design and development of carbon projects. If you are an enthusiastic professional with an understanding of the AFOLU sector, especially in REDD+, ARR, ALM or other land use projects, then we are looking for you!

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Responsible for the implementation and management of the emission reduction projects which includes: leading and drafting feasibility studies and project design documents, validation, monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) support under different standards (T-VER, CDM, VERRA, GS4GG, ICONTEC) among other local and international carbon schemes
  • Conduct site visits and travel to project locations whenever needed
  • Be a key point of contact and maintain good relationship with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide technical and business development support with the project sourcing team
  • Proposal and deliverable preparation and completion as per South Pole and client quality standards
  • Define and plan content and structure to support the certification of the project: work plans, work schedules, budgets and deliverables
  • Schedule Technical Reviews and Quality Checks
  • Draft invoices and update the project’s information in our project management tool
  • Keep general information, milestones and cash flows in the project management tool up to date
  • Support other Project Managers in proposal/deliverable preparation and completion of the project development cycle tasks as per South Pole and client quality standards. The nature of the support may be either technical or administrative depending on the characteristics, topic and complexity of the mandate
  • Gather, prepare and present information to represent South Pole at meetings
  • Undertake research into possible partners and collaborators for upcoming opportunities
  • Participate in formal and informal networking opportunities as requested
  • Share relevant contacts and information on possible opportunities with the sales team

Your profile

  • University Degree in Forestry, Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Sustainability or Climate Change and Carbon Mitigation or any related field
  • At least three years of work experience in Forestry, Sustainability Consulting, Climate Change Mitigation/Adaptation or related fields
  • Ability to manage targets and priorities and develop your own goals
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills both in Spanish and English
  • Ability to create high quality written documents (proposals and deliverables) in Spanish and English
