A new philanthropic initiative, hosted by the European Climate Foundation and funded by a wide range of donors, Tara aims to achieve prosperity, clean air and a safe climate in Asia. We do this by supporting a diverse group of partners to accelerate the transition to sustainable, clean energy in order to meet global climate targets and ensure clean air for all citizens.
We are currently seeking a Managing Director to lead a growing and ambitious operation in the region. This exciting role will lead the development of the Tara fund, including overall organisational management and development, fundraising and oversight of high-level strategy.
Reporting to a Board of Funders, under the umbrella of the European Climate Foundation Board, the Managing Director will lead the regional team and the eventual localisation of this new entity.
The expectation is that the Managing Director will transition to be the CEO of Tara as it progresses to becoming an entity separate from the European Climate Foundation and based in the region.
We are seeking a strong, dynamic leader based in the region who has the skills and experience to lead an organisation that has an ambitious mandate to solve the region’s challenging energy dilemmas. The Managing Director will be an exceptional individual with a drive for the highest quality strategy, management and people motivation.
You will bring broad credibility with relevant stakeholders, including grassroots civil society, governments and industry, and a proven track record of leading an innovative and growing organisation. Most importantly, you will demonstrate a personal commitment to solving the climate crisis and enabling systemic change.
