Duties & Responsibilities:
We are looking to expand our corporate finance team and bring on board dynamic individuals who are number-oriented while being excellent communicators, critical thinkers and effective doers who naturally builds relationships that lead to results.
We have a small and energetic team, and this is a roll-up-your-sleeves kind of role. You should be a resourceful problem solver who knows how to push the envelope and embrace new challenges. As a member of our dynamic team, you will be knowledgeable about corporate finance related tasks to fund-raise for Impact Enterprises (IEs), as well as liaise with donors, manage short-term projects, expand/gain field experiences, and cultivate stakeholder relationships. Candidates must combine knowledge of financial markets and transaction, with experience in development and close affinity to the developing markets in which IIX operates, ideally through hands on experience.
- You will source and evaluate IEs to build a healthy pipeline in the key sectors and geographies, and in screening IEs on investment readiness criteria
- You will provide technical assistance to selected IEs to get them investment-ready. This includes examining financial reports, building financial models, drafting business plans and structuring capital needs
- You will provide crucial support to the team on Investor outreach to expand its investor database
Support the Corporate Finance team in developing proposals for product development and technical assistance assignments, with support from the Business Development team
Cultivate and close relationships with individual partners to enhance IIX’s visibility, access, and influence, while developing a broader platform for further pipeline building
Contribute to the overall development of IIX and its not-for-profit sister entity, Impact Investment Shujog, by collaborating with other strategic initiatives and organization-wide operational efforts.
For Associates, a minimum of 3 years of combined experience in corporate finance, business development, management consulting or similar experience
Cultural sensitivity towards working in South and Southeast Asia
Excellent interpersonal skills; very strong leadership ability
Outstanding presentation and communication skills, Experienced and comfortable working in Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.
Highly entrepreneurial mindset; self-starter comfortable working in a dynamic environment
Desire to work in a collaborative, high-performing team environment, building relationships with other team members and managing a range of responsibilities.
Must be a team player, with a passion for entrepreneurship and market-based solutions to poverty, and an understanding of the challenges of investing in the markets we serve.

Additional Desired Qualifications:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in development or financial economics, business administration, or quantitative or technical discipline
Background in investor relations, institutional sales, or business development
Academic or professional experience with IIX sector specializations (including renewable energy, inclusive finance, technology access, rural healthcare services, education, water and waste management)
Experience of living or extensive travel in developing countries. Field experience in the region working with social enterprises, startups, or INGOs will be an advantage
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well with a diverse group of stakeholders, from public bodies and policy makers to social entrepreneurs to large, international private corporations.
You should be highly motivated to work in a collaborative, high-performing team environment, building relationships with other team members and managing a range of responsibilities and take ownership of the tasks assigned to you.
